Privacy Policy

Who we are

Our website address is: https://bathroom-company.co.uk.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who we share your data with

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Enquiries and advertising

Who we are

This website and our advertising are run by Hinckley Property Solutions Ltd, trading as The Bathroom Company. We’re registered in England and Wales, company number 10928200, at 9 Portland Drive, Hinckley, LE10 1SE. If you have any questions about your information, email us at info@bathroom-company.co.uk or call 07399 414837.

What we collect when you enquire

We advertise on Facebook and Instagram, and those adverts send people to an enquiry page. If you fill in that form, we collect:

 Your name

Your phone number and email address

The postcode of the property the bathroom is in

 When you’re looking to start

The budget you have in mind

How and when you’d prefer us to contact you

We also record which advert brought you to the page, so we know which of our adverts people respond to.

What we do with it

We use your details to reply to your enquiry, to arrange a design consultation if you want one, and to give you a price for the work. If your postcode falls outside the area we cover, we’ll let you know on the page and we won’t be in touch.

How we’ll contact you

We’ll contact you by phone, text message or email, using whichever you told us you’d prefer. If we can’t reach you the first time, we may try one of the others. You can ask us to stop contacting you at any time and we’ll stop.

Who else sees it

Your enquiry is sent to us using Zapier and stored in Google Sheets, both of which handle the information on our behalf and don’t use it for anything of their own. We also use Cloudflare Turnstile on the form to stop automated spam, which checks that you’re a real person rather than a computer.

Cookies and advertising

Our enquiry page uses the Meta pixel, which is a small piece of code from Facebook and Instagram. It saves a file in your browser so that Meta can tell us how many people responded to each of our adverts, and so we can show adverts to people who’ve visited the page.

If you’d rather not have this, you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can change what Meta uses to choose your adverts in the ad preferences section of your Facebook or Instagram account.

What we share with Facebook and Instagram

When you send us an enquiry, we also send Meta, who run Facebook and Instagram, a hashed version of your name, email address and phone number. It’s hashed before it leaves the page so that it can’t be read, and Meta compares it against the details they already hold to work out whether you’re someone who saw one of our adverts. That tells us which of our adverts are producing enquiries. If you’d rather we didn’t, email us at info@bathroom-company.co.uk and we’ll stop.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry details for up to two years, so that we can pick up a conversation again if you come back to us. After that we delete them. If you’d like your details removed sooner, email us and we’ll do it.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info@bathroom-company.co.uk and we’ll deal with it. If you’re not happy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
